"A Journey Through Art" | Stephen Vosilla, Artist
I started to get heavy into art when I got into college. At first, I was unsure of what to major in. I decided art because as a child I would love to draw. I started to major in art and minor in political science. It was an interesting combination, and oddly enough I eventually decided to major in both. As it turned out, I wanted to emphasis more in art; It really began to become a passion. I graduated from Carson-Newman in May of 2009. I am trying to get my masters so I can teach. I was fortunate to have my works displayed in the Knoxville Museum of Art, the University of Tennessee, and several galleries and places. Each of my artworks express a theme or idea that I am passionate about.
The artworks all have a simplified cartoon look while at the same time expressing deep philosophical meanings. I love to express tons of content. Each work revolves around a certain theme. For example, "A Journey Through Art" revolves around the theme of all the great movements in art history. The characters in the painting explore each of the new movements. I express the meaning of the work clearly for the audience to see. I keep all the characters simple to fit in the composition. All of my artworks can be seen at Vosilla.blogspot.com. I can be contacted at drawfd@gmail.com. I am a member of the Knoxville Watercolor Society and currently have a piece on display at the Knoxville Museum of Art.
