![]() ![]() "Cannonballs" | Sierra Tajen is a photographer based in Knoxville, Tennessee. After dabbling in different craft media since childhood, Tajen found her niche in 2007 upon getting her hands on a digital SLR camera that she hasn’t put down since. Her photographs are inspired by a love of the outdoors and the creatures and objects that inhabit it. She typically focuses on macro photography, but anything that exhibits color or intrigue is bound to capture her eye. The subjects she portrays are as varied as the places she shoots in, ranging from animate to inanimate and hailing from regions near and far. Always exploring new things to photograph, Tajen’s style is ever-changing yet consistently aims to capture unique elements of her photographic subjects. Whether covered in delicate fur or rusted metal, she strives to enliven her subject matter, conveying its personality or exposing subtle details of its character in an alluring way. Tajen’s photographs have primarily focused on portraying items in a stirring yet realistic light; however her recent works have begun experimenting with more abstract and surrealistic themes.
