![]() ![]() "Recycled I" | Shirley Brown, Artist I have been working with found objects for many years. Rusty old pieces of metal always have fed my imagination. For one thing, I appreciate stuff that oxidizes faster than plastic. A life-long artist, I participate regularly in a broad range of exhibition venues and my work appears in many private collections. In addition to found object assemblage, my primary mediums include drawing, painting, and digital photography. I also have been active in leadership roles in several local organizations, and international cultural exchanges, and I have worked since 1994 at the Knoxville Museum of Art, where I am currently Director of Administration. I pursued formal fine art studies at Pensacola Junior College, Georgia State University, and the University of Michigan.
