| Jason Sabbides, Artist Jason has entered and won several competitions including first place at the Annual Juried Open Art Competition at Old Rock School in Valdese, NC in 2008 and Best in Show for Painting at the Montford Fourth Annual Arts & Music Festival in 2007. He also received an Undergraduate Research Summer Grant at the University of North Carolina Asheville in 2008. Jason has had three solo exhibitions, these include: "New Work" at the Pump Gallery in Asheville, NC in 2009; "Maintaining a Pantheon" B.F.A. exhibition at the S. Tucker Cooke Gallery at UNC Asheville, NC in 2008; and "Sabbides" at the J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center in Morganton, NC in 2005. In addition to the countless group exhibitions, Jason has been commissioned for numerous works of art. Jason has been published four times in the last 3 years. Jason is now two years into his Masters Degree at East Tennessee State University and with one year left in the classroom, he is determined to focus more on creating his thesis. He states "discovering new images and creations within my mind produce my artwork. Inside my imagination lies my masterpiece." His motivation and his creativity are the key components to discovering the new and thriving avenues his artwork will take.
